Grace Community Services
Grace Community Services (GCS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation formed to generate community care, support and voluntary participation in programs, activities and services for people with special needs. GCS’s heart lies in caring for the less privileged; the homeless and destitute, the abused and abandoned, the lonely and rejected. They are housed, fed, counselled and cared for in the various GCS homes established to meet the myriad needs of our society. Some of the programs run by GSC include:-
- Food Bank – This program is set up with the primary objective of providing basic food items to charitable homes, rehabilitation centers, feeding centers, poor individuals and families.
- Birthright – Birthright is a home from unwed mothers and unplanned pregnancies.
- Grace Centre – Grace Centre is a care centre specially designated for the victims of drug and alcohol abuse.
- Rumah KIDS – Rumah Kanak-Kanak Ini Di Sayangi or more commonly known as Rumah KIDS focus on children who are abandoned, abused and/or neglected.
The founders of Bethel have worked closely with GCS and Rev. Dr. Henry Pillai, for over 20 years. Rev Dr Henry Pillai has offered much guidance and influenced the work of Bethel. Bethel’s partnership with GCS includes providing a refuge for the needy, and combining resources to benefit the needy like shoes, that came through Bethel Community Centre’s contacts are also shared with the needy being cared for by GCS.
